Children and older people are just some of the Crewe residents who have benefited from the recent charitable efforts of major local employer, Air Products.
The company’s #60for60 campaign is encouraging employees to donate at least 60 minutes of their time to worthwhile activities in the area they work to mark its 60th anniversary in the UK.
Employees from Air Products’ Crewe team have donated almost 100 hours in the local community where efforts have included:
- Setting up an afternoon tea at Hollymere House Care Home: eight members of the Marketing team treated residents at the home to a special afternoon of tea and cakes, making sure everyone had a hugely enjoyable day.
- Improving open spaces: seven employees from Air Products’ Leadership team helped out with a major gardening and decorating project at The Wingate Centre, devoted to enriching the lives of children and young people with disabilities. Thanks to their efforts, the gym changing rooms have been freshly decorated and the outdoor spaces look neat and tidy.
- Inspiring the next generation of engineers: employees visited pupils at Warmingham Primary School to show them the magic of science with liquid nitrogen demonstrations and other experiments to help ignite their imaginations.
- Supporting charities: other members of the team donated their time to raise money for Marie Curie and support the work of St Luke’s Hospice.
