INVITATION
Skills Commission Reception:Â Building a skills system that works for everyone
Wednesday 21st February 2018, 14:00-16:00
Macmillan Room, Portcullis House
On the steps of 10 Downing Street, Prime Minister Theresa May set out her ambition to Âmake Britain a country that works not for a privileged few, but for every one of usÂ. An effective skills system is vital for fulfilling that ambition, allowing people from all backgrounds to thrive and contribute to the nationÂs productivity.
Through a series of ÂA Spotlight on Â inquiries, the Skills Commission have been shining a light on the impact of the skills reforms on overlooked groups in the skills system. Our past reports have examined ÂYoung people with below average academic attainment and ÂLifelong learning for an ageing workforceÂ. With a cross-party approach we will be launching our third report ÂApprenticeships and Social Mobility later this month.
Policy Connect invites you to join us to examine the findings and recommendations of the three reports to date, highlighting where progress has been made and where there is still work to be done.
We are delighted to announce our keynote speaker Angela Rayner MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Education.
