Cube Precision Engineering have set out to discover what the future holds for the composite industry. Currently providing the world leaders in the aerospace, defence and automotive industry with press tool design and manufacture, specialising in large scale bespoke projects, Cube Precision are now focusing their sights firmly on expanding their composite division.
Cube Precision have recently appointed a new team member who will be responsible for the developing the companyÂs composite division. They created a researcher role and appointed Plymouth University graduate John Hackett, who will now look into the current UK and European composites industry and identify areas for potential growth as well as identify possible barriers and calculate the required investments. Neil Clifton, Director of Cube Precision Engineering says

Created in 2009 to serve the rail industry, Cube Precision has grown to an annual turnover of £3.5m and now employ over 40 staff. Winners of Young Business of the Year at the Express and Star Business Awards and regional finalist in Export Growth Awards, Cube Precision are recognised by their peers to be at the forefront of press tool manufacture within the UK. Now with John in place as their researcher, this young company can only grow stronger.

John Hackett graduated from Plymouth University in 2008 with a 2:1 in BSc(Hons) Marine and Composite Engineering
He has experience with a number of composite processes, including resin infusion, vacuum bagging and hand lay-up.
He has worked with a range of materials; including glass, carbon, aramid fibres, epoxy/polyester resins and both paint and gel coat finishes.
John is also a qualified electrician.
