Advanced Engineering (UK) Ltd, located in the centre of Birmingham, specialise in multi-axis precision engineering to automotive,aerospace and associated sectors working on prestige projects with major OEM’s.

The family-owned company originally started life as RT Palmer in 1978 near Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and has since grown to be a leading provider of high quality engineering services to the UK and European marketplace.

 Since moving to its current facility in Hockley, Birmingham in 2000 the company has driven its growth by Advanced Engineering – building partnerships with customers and driving Improvement through Investment, technology and people Greater capability through investment Commercial Features investing £3.5m in the latest technology including five-axis machining centres and OpenMind CAD/CAM software for true five-axis machiningfrom CAD data. This investment combined with the company’s BS EN ISO9001:2008 and recently achieved automotive TS16949:2009 certified quality system has given Advanced Engineering a greater capability to satisfy marketplace demand and exceed customer expectations. 

By combining investment in the latest machining technologies, employee training, product quality and a companywide customer focussed culture with the recent expansion of the manufacturing facility completed early 2011, Advanced Engineering is in a prime position to offer the highest quality engineering service. 

The business offers a full service from engineering concept, fixture design, fixture manufacture, supply chain development, supply chain management, onsite manufacture and part approval.

Advanced Engineering can cater for a wide range of volume and market requirements and have developed processes and techniques to support each sector, from prototype parts delivered to tight customer deadlines to full production supply against customer schedule. The company also has the ability to meet the demands of the automotive and aerospace sectors. This has ranged from bespoke interior bright work machined from solid to cast engine components such cylinder heads, blocks, either sourced internally or supplied by its customers. 

With this experience Advanced Engineering is capable of producing all supporting documentation for production projects as well as full supply chain management. With another new machine purchase and achievement of AS9100 Rev C planned for later this year Advanced Engineering is looking to go from strength to strength.
