INVITATION TO TENDER-Â New Commercial Boiler Installation Commissioning and associated work for WJ Sutton
About WJ Sutton- 23/31 Vittoria Street, Birmingham, West Midlands, B1 3ND.
We have a 3 story office block built in 1981. It is occupied by ourselves and five other tenants. The boiler is the same age as the building. Currently it is a wet system with radiators providing both space heating and hot water. We will consult with the tenderers about the possibility of alternatives to the current hot water system. Although it is working at present it would be difficult to obtain parts and is less efficient than a new boiler. We are looking for the boiler to be fully installed by the end of August 2018. We expect the boiler to be about 95kw. We will value the tendererÂs advice on the possibility of metering either the flow of gas or heat to the individual tenants so we can apportion the costs correctly and therefore hopefully reduce the consumption. As part of the tender- we would like your best estimate for the energy saving from the project and the reasons behind the suggested savings. We will accept quotations for part or this entire project.
Criteria for selection- In order of importance
Safety- Our opinion on the installerÂs ability to install the boiler in a manner which would reassure ourselves about the safety of the building and its occupants.
Carbon Saving- The likely efficiency of the boiler and other proposed equipment is very important as we wish to save on future energy bills but more importantly limit our impact on the environment. Reliability- The current boiler has worked continuously for 37 years and we would look at the guarantee on the boiler, and the supplierÂs reputation to gauge the likelihood of breakdown and the durability of the boiler.
Price - Once reassured of the above we will base our decision on cost.
You need to consider the follow:
Safe removal of the old boiler and other replaced products.
If in order for the safe working of the new boiler, other parts of the heating system such as the flue also need to be replaced.
Please donÂt limit your suggestions to one type of technology or solution.
Ideally we like to be able to control the boiler remotely, perhaps via an app or through a computer. Be aware of the need for the boiler to be fully operational and very reliable for the next heating season. If you feel that you need access to our roof, this access would be more available from the end of the school term.
For the benefit of ourselves and our tenants we would appreciate if noise and debris and other nuisances could be kept to a minimum
