Karen Drinkwater, Director of Worcestershire-based rotational moulding firm JSC Rotational, has been name one of PRWÂs 'Most Influential People in The UK Plastics Industry'.
The list includes 70 most influential individuals in the domestic plastics sector, devised from a PRW readers poll and the findings of a specially-convened panel of PRW staff.
It includes representation from across the industry, from machinery sectors, materials and distribution, through to processing activities.
Also featured are individuals whose day-to-day activities, while not directly related to the workings of the industry itself, nevertheless have a significant impact on its fortunes.
The list includes notable names such as David Cameron, James Dyson, Lord Bhattacharyya and Mark Carney governor of the Bank of England.
Karen Drinkwater said of the achievement ÂI am delighted to be included on this list particularly as Rotational Moulding only accounts for a small proportion of the polymer industry. Whilst representing rotomoulders, my aim was to raise awareness of our process and the diverse and technical mouldings we can produce. Having a rotational moulder on the list will only help with this.
It is also good to see some high profile women mentioned - but there are more who have gone unrecognised. Hopefully this will improve in the future. This is important if as an industry we wish to inspire the best of young women to consider a career within polymersÂ
