Back in 2007 Worcester Presses delivered a Chin Fong 200 ton c-frame press to a tier one automotive supplier.  The press had a number of customised features to suit the application and it performed well.  The Worcester Presses service department provided backup to the customer’s engineers.

3 years later when a new requirement for a turnkey press coil line was established, the call was made to Worcester Presses.

Over a few days, the requirements were established and detailed out in a full equipment specification which included a Chin Fong GTX-400 power press.  After some negotiation the customer order was placed which precipitated a number of local sub-contractor orders from Worcester Presses, all based on the detailed equipment specification.

The prepared groundwork saved time in the commissioning process and the Chin Fong press line was available for production 2 weeks after delivery.

The line consisted of a Chin Fong GTX-400 press, a PA servo roll feeder, a Tomac single headed powered decoiler and an ARJAY spray lubrication system.  A perimeter fence with Fortress Interlocks securing the gates surrounded the coil line.

An important factor not often given enough prominence are the electrical interconnections between the different elements of the coil line.  Examples of this are the linking together of Emergency Stops, and the initiation of Creep Modes for coil equipment when the gates are open.

The important review stage was carried out after a few weeks of production, and this initiated a number of improvements to assist day-to day production.

It could be said, from viewing the project from the start to the current position, that the customers vision has been turned into reality by Worcester Presses.

Worcester Presses will be pleased to discuss Mechanical and Hydraulic presses with end users.
