Manufacturing & Engineering group Made in the Midlands is pleased to announce a two year partnership with the University of Wolverhampton. This is a great opportunity for the University of Wolverhampton to extend its reach into the manufacturing sector and use its well established partnerships with regional Business Solutions Centres and Growth Hubs, in Wolverhampton, Telford, Hereford and Stafford, to benefit and assist Made in the Midlands members via the University of WolverhamptonÂs Manufacturing Club.Â
The Manufacturing Club is one of the UniversityÂs Centres of Excellence which is dedicated to supporting innovation and the growth of manufacturing in the West Midlands. It provides manufacturers, product designers and innovators with a range of support and brings leading edge thinking in advanced manufacturing to industry. Made in the Midlands members will be able to access a range of professional manufacturing services and a wealth of knowledge via thematic cluster activities facilitated by the Manufacturing Club.Â
With the power of the Made in the Midlands network with its 300 members and formidable events calendar for SME manufacturing & engineering firms in the Midlands, this partnership is a real statement of intent for both organisations.
ÂWeÂve been working with the Business Solutions Centre in Wolverhampton for a number of years now but the investment made by the LEPÂs and the University in the Marches Growth Hub, Telford and support infrastructure at the Business Solutions Centre, where the Black Country Growth Hub is based, make this an ideal place to host our networking events and help our members build better links with these centres comments Charles Addison, Director of Made in the Midlands.
ÂOur group now represents more than £3 billion of Midlands manufacturing & engineering in the region and there is a real opportunity in the Black Country and the Marches to offer businesses much needed support since announcements were made that funding for Manufacturing Advisory Service will be discontinued. This two year partnership offers real stability for firms in the Black Country and the Marches and allows us to add real value to the business community.
ÂThe University is pleased to have signed a two year patron agreement with Made in The Midlands and are looking forward to working in collaboration to increase the added value given to their membership Gary Dimmock, Business Solutions Centre Manager.
