With skilled IT engineers in such demand, Kidderminster-based Minster Micro ComputersÂ
Ltd, is delighted to have secured not one, but four new trainee engineers.Â
Minster Director, Mrs Susan Marlow, stated: "Recruiting the right calibre of young peopleÂ
continues to be a challenge, and like many other businesses in our sector looking to recruitÂ
and train budding young talent thereÂs no shortage of applicants, just applicants with theÂ
right skillsetsÂ.
20-year old Ryan, who is studying Business Information Technology at university successfullyÂ
secured his 12-month placement as part of his university degree course, whilst 19-year oldÂ
Rheece, 18-year old Alex and the youngest of the apprenticeship group Esmée secured theirÂ
positions with Minster through the Worcestershire County CouncilÂs ApprenticeshipÂ
Scheme.Â
Susan continued: ÂAll have the right aptitude, interests and attitude to become, what weÂ
believe, successful IT engineers. Their current technical capacity marries well with their keenÂ
interest in learning. Alongside this, they all have fantastic, enthusiastic personalities thatÂ
canÂt be taught, only encouraged!Â
All four budding engineers will be given training on a range of products such as Microsoft,
SAP, Pegasus business software and 3CX, as well as receiving individual training alongsideÂ
MinsterÂs product development and support engineers. They join an established teamÂ
delivering business software, hardware and IT support services to customers both locallyÂ
and across the surrounding counties, ranging in size from SMEÂs to corporate bodies withÂ
large multi-user networks.
Added Susan: ÂThis is an exciting time for Minster and we look forward to the next 12-
months as our new recruits receive specialist product and workplace training designed toÂ
ensure they are fully competent engineers capable of joining MinsterÂs engineering team atÂ
the end of their training period.
ÂOnce they have successfully completed their courses, all four trainees will have the
opportunity to secure full time positions with Minster.Â
Minster would like to wish all Made in the Midlands Members a good Christmas break andÂ
a prosperous new year!
