Automotive insulations supplier Autins Group has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive.

The Rugby-based company, a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of acoustic and thermal insulation solutions for the automotive sector, has recruited Gareth Kaminski-Cook (pictured). He replaces Michael Jennings, who will leave his post at the end of August.

Gareth will be joining Autins from Low & Bonar, the fully-listed international performance materials group, where he was Group Director of Strategy, Sales and Marketing and Global Business Director, Interiors and Transportation (a global business supplying specialist materials to the Automotive and Flooring industries).

He will take up his post in January, when he will join the Autins’ board of directors.

Gareth has 25 years' experience in market-leading industrial organisations across several business sectors, having worked previously for Saint Gobain, Rexam, BPB and Danaher.  He has lived and worked in Asia, the United States and Europe, and has a deep understanding of the manufacture and application of specialist acoustic and thermal materials across relevant industrial markets such as Automotive and Building Products.

The 53-year-old is a former Officer in the Corps of Royal Engineers and a Civil Engineering graduate from Birmingham University.

Following the departure of Mr Jennings on August 31, the company has announced that non-executive director Ian Griffiths will step up to the role of Interim Chief Executive. Mr Griffiths, who has been a member of the Autins board since the company’s IPO in August 2016, has strong experience in the sector having spent nearly 30 years with GKN plc and is an experienced public company executive.

Adam Attwood, Chairman of Autins Group, said:  "We are delighted to have identified an excellent candidate in Gareth and the board is confident that his experience and capabilities will be invaluable in capitalising on the significant growth and development opportunities that the group has.  Michael has done an excellent job in strengthening our senior management team; we wish him well for the future."

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Kaminski-Cook said: "This is an exciting time to join Autins.  The market drivers for specialist NVH solutions offer strong growth opportunities for the business, particularly the Neptune product which is seeing growing success with OEMs across Europe.  I have been very impressed by the recent investment in the business and am looking forward to leading the Group in the next phase of its growth."
