The Workstation 6 Kitting Module has been designed and manufactured for a local Aerospace OEM for use on their site in Germany for transporting aerospace components to the build line. This kitting solution is a variation of our standard Workstation Kitting Module design.
The unit has been based around a 1.5M base, with mild steel panel back, sides and top. The overall footprint and height of the trolley will be the same as the customerÂs existing 1.5M A Frame previously supplied. The interior of the module features three sections for storage of parts.
The first section on the left hand side is a compartment lined with plywood and foamex to which a series of shadows and pipe clips will be added so that engine pipes can be attached. This solution ensures parts can be quickly identified while being adequately protected.
The second compartment (lower right) is a fabricated Polyethylene PE300 drawer pod with 7 off drawers, 4 off drawers are 100mm deep and 3 off are 200mm deep. A retaining bar secures the drawers closed while in transport. Polyethylene has been chosen to minimise any metal to metal contact of high value aerospace components. PE300 is well suited due to being lightweight yet strong.
The third section (top right) is an area that can store C class parts.
The unit is assembled with 4 off 160mm Diameter castors with blue elastic tyres and black plastic centres. 2 off castors are fixed and 2 off castors feature an upgraded, easy to operate braking mechanism. The design also features fork lift truck pockets for lifting and a drop down handle to one end for manoeuvring the unit around site.
The trolley has been powder coated in BS 4800 20 D 45 (Blue) to provide a hard wearing long lasting finish.
