Precision metal specialists, Non Ferrous Stockholders (NFS), are proud to announce their collaboration with their European parent company CLAL for the ICA (International Copper Association, Ltd.) and CDA (Copper Development Association) Antimicrobial Copper servicemark.

In recent months NFS, based in Wolverhampton, have made significant changes to reflect their identity as a subsidiary of Copper-Nickel producer CLAL, giving them a wider customer base and further global opportunities.

Antimicrobial Copper is the most effective touch surface material in the fight against pathogenic microbes, killing greater than 99.9% of bacteria within two hours of exposure. No other material comes close. The Antimicrobial Copper brand is used by leading material suppliers, designers and manufacturers of components and systems to indicate their products and services employ Antimicrobial Copper.

Copper is a powerful antimicrobial with rapid, broad-spectrum efficacy against bacteria and viruses, including MRSA and norovirus.  It shares this benefit with a range of copper alloys, forming a family of materials collectively called ‘antimicrobial copper’.  Touch surfaces made from solid antimicrobial copper are used by healthcare facilities around the world to help reduce the spread of infection.

The newly acquired Antimicrobial Copper servicemark is awarded to suppliers approved by Copper Development Association and will allow NFS-CLAL to produce, stock and distribute approved Copper-Nickel materials for companies wishing to manufacture products such as worktops, beds, chairs, call buttons, medical devices for hospitals and other components for cruise ships, airports and indoor stadiums, to name just a few.

Parent company CLAL specialise in the production of 30-40 different grades of Copper-Nickel and NFS will use this new servicemark to focus their antimicrobial drive on the Copper Nickel materials.

NFS are able to provide small quantities of these silver coloured alloys for companies wishing to prototype or produce short runs of new products.

From their origins as a commercial stockholder of copper & yellow metals, NFS are now fully geared up to process exotic metals including a wide range of high performance alloys.

NFS are a diverse company with a unique position in the market place:  mill type knowledge and experience, as well as a service centre approach to its’ customers. There is also a real diversity in the range of applications and industries that NFS operate in too, including Electronic, Automotive, Defence & MOD, Oil & Gas and Subsea to name a few.
