R A Labone has invested in two brand new Fanuc M10iA robots, two new wire eroders and a hole boring machine in the last year. 

The wire eroders and hole boring machine have been purchased to help speed up Labone’s ability to make tools and improve their precision. This will allow them to make more, better quality tools and ensures the tool room exceeds customer satisfaction.

The use of the Fanuc M10iA robots will ensure that R A Labone remain technologically superior within their processes of manufacturing technical injection moulded parts. In turn, R A Labone will be capable of meeting the volume and price demands of their customers, whilst also ensuring that all manufacturing takes place in the UK. 

Following the installation of the automated system at the R A Labone plant, Fanuc and RNA deployed engineers to train employees on how to set up, operate and maintain the automated system.

R A Labone’s Business Development Manager Max Pulford said: “We put technological guile into our new ways of manufacturing, which in turn protects the employment of our current staff and facilitates new employment. This provides our customers with better products at a competitive price.” 

The Fanuc M10iA robots have a wide range of benefits that will allow R A Labone’s production processes to be dealt with quickly and with absolute precision. These robots have six degrees of freedom, the highest axis speeds and the best repeatability in their class.

The robots have been individualised with a 50mm hollow wrist and upper arm, helping to reduce costs and improve reliability. This investment will undoubtedly allow R A Labone to provide customers with the highest quality standard of work. 

With R A Labone’s continual drive towards improving the company's technological equipment, they are also intent on expanding on the accreditations they have already been awarded. R A Labone already operate under the ISO 13485, ISO 9001 and TS 16949 quality management systems. 

These new technological advancements will allow R A Labone to continue its expansion into different markets outside of the automotive industry. Pulford said: “We can offer new markets more quality manufacturing in the future and so aid our expansion. We continue to use our skills and accreditations to diversify and support more markets.”
