The latest Made in the Midlands breakfast morning was hosted by Ricoh UK Products Ltd, who offer the highest end of additive manufacturing technology to their customers.

Ricoh offer solutions for design and prototyping via AM, including rapid tooling for low volume production – or hard tooling for higher volume manufacture – they can also take your product through its full development cycle. With their Advanced Metrology centre, they qualify your parts to ensure your product meets the highest quality levels required to launch your product.

Managing Director of Ricoh, Colin Weaver said: “I think from my point of view, the whole audience was involved and has been interactive with the staff and all of the subjects. I think it's been extremely successful and we made some decent contacts.”

Over 70 representatives of the local manufacturing sector registered to discover more about Ricoh’s range of different services, including: consultancy, training, exhibiting, design, reverse engineering, 3d scanning and many more. Their new state-of-the-art facility was created to help you benefit from their expertise to get your prototypes and products to market, fast.

Ricoh provided guests with a guided tour of their brand new Customer Experience Centre (CEC). The CEC is a world class facility that brings together the best that Ricoh offers in the fields of production printing technology and lean manufacturing. This is where they research, develop, customise and demonstrate their solutions, and here you can see examples of how Ricoh’s Learning by Doing and Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) principles are applied to increase their knowledge.

Colin concluded: “We opened the CEC in November 2014, the idea started after we entered into production printing, so we know how to manufacture printers, but we didn't know what the customer needs to do next. The whole concept of the CEC actually won an internal award, which is the top award for Ricoh for this new concept. So next month, Ricoh will announce from head office that this is now a global initiative. ”
