Being an entrepreneur can be exhausting, so just in case your finger has slipped off the funding pulse, there're a fund out there, just for you guys...The Energy Entrepreneurs Fund.
The Energy Entrepreneurs Fund is a competitive funding scheme to support the development of technologies, products and processes in energy efficiency, power generation and storage.
This competition seeks the best ideas, irrespective of source, across these energy technology areas from the public and private sector. The scheme particularly aims to assist small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups, and those companies that are selected will receive additional funding for incubation support.
Key Facts:
- Up to £1 million available per project
- Open for applications, right now!
- Expressions of interest are required by 20th January 2017
- Deadline for applications is on 3rd February 2017
Eligibility
- The project must be at TRL 3 or above (Critical Function or Proof of Concept Established)
- Applicants need to have private funding in place to cover the balance of the eligible costs. The match funding must be at least 10% of the total project costs
- The project must fit within one of the technology areas defined

On your marks...get set for the Open Programme - round 2 coming soon
In June we saw the release of the highly anticipated Innovate UK's Open Programme and round 2 of the programme is expected to open any time now.
Are you ready?
We expect the details for round 2 to be similar to round 1, so here's an overview of some key Open Programme facts:
- Competition - due to open anytime now
- Closing date - expected to be Feb 2017
- Awards expected between £25k - £450k
- Projects should be designed to help businesses develop new products, processes and services with commercial potential. With the aim to enhance UK competitiveness, growth and improve national productivity.
As with round 1, the Open Programme competition is open to businesses in ANY industry sector. But to be in scope the project must:
- Demonstrate innovation leading to novel, new products, processes or services
- articulate a clear and anticipated growth impact for the business(s) leading to a significant return on investment (ROI)
As with the last round, we expect round 2 to be just as competitive and oversubscribed. Projects will need to be delivering high levels of innovation and technical risk and have a benefit to UK and EU markets.
TBAT at the ATS Testing Show 2016
Come to the world famous Millbrook Proving Ground on the 8th and 9th December for the ATS Testing Show - the UK'S largest testing event.
